You Can Still Finish Strong!

Philippians 3: 13-14

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,  I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus”.

This article is the third installment in the Resolution series since the beginning of this year. The preceding two articles in the series are ‘What Would You Change?’, and ‘Are You Still On Track?’

As mentioned throughout this series, a new year not only comes with a great deal of excitement, but also presents an opportunity for change – people voluntarily commit themselves to positive changes either in their personal, professional, or spiritual lives.

Usually, the intention is to either stop, or start doing, something in an attempt to achieve improvement in different areas of our lives. Thankfully, these resolutions are shared with friends, families, or colleagues who automatically become the accountability partners or buddies.

However, as we all know, the excitement with which we start the year is not the same as the year progresses – there is an exponential decline of interest, passion, zeal, commitment etc; especially as the year progresses to completion.

The first article in this series ‘What Would You Change’?, was to provoke us to effect a change in areas necessary. The second one ‘Are You Still on Track’? was to serve as a reminder for our goals and dreams. This third article ‘You Can Still Finish Strong’ is meant as an encouragement that it is still possible to attain the goals you set out to achieve earlier on this year!

Even though we are now in the 11th month, every day (from now till the end of this year) presents enough opportunities for success. You might need to revisit your goals/dreams, make adjustments, engage your willpower, pray for grace, pick up pace,  push yourself, etc, but it is still possible to achieve something this year.

You can still finish strong if you put your mind to it. Do not sit and view the mistakes you’ve made, or the time wasted, or the opportunities missed. Rather, take advantage of the remaining days of this year and set your mind on achieving something – even if it’s an integral part of your original goal. You will win if you do not quit!

You can still finish strong this year!
