Who is Waiting on Who?

Isaiah 45:11   Romans 4:16-22  Matthew 11:12

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

Waiting periods are not necessarily the most delightful times in life. The thought of empty/endless anticipation day in day out, all year long, is never the most exciting period of time. No wonder everything about human nature dislikes the concept of waiting. Yet waiting periods are inevitable in life – from the mundane to mega things, we all have had to wait sometimes.

As a Christian, I’m sure you have experienced different wait periods where you seem to be marking time, in anticipation of an answer to a prayer, a healing miracle, or a provision for your needs. Sometimes the waiting period is painfully extended, such that you begin to wonder what God is up to. The night seems very long, and the days seem even longer!

The mind begins to entertain the thought of hopelessness; and daily battle the feelings of exhaustion. Hanging on to the last shred of faith you can muster, you begin to question why God is taking so long! But have you ever considered this startling, but intriguing aspect – that God is waiting on you too!

Yes God is waiting on you too! As shocking as this thought appears, the truth remains that God has been waiting on you, and it’s been a long wait for Him too! God has already provided everything we are waiting on Him for, but most times our faith falls short in receiving these blessings (or breakthroughs) God has for us!

Except in extenuating circumstances where God is using the waiting period to achieve a transformation work in us, God expects us to lay hold of His promises, step up our faith level, and receive all the goodies He has stocked up for us! But instead, we are wallowing in the pit of despair, doubt, and despondency! And going around the same mountain over and over again!

Folks, enough of waiting and marking time on the things God has already provided many years ago! It’s time to get more spiritually aggressive, take God at His word, step of that faith bar, pray earnestly/tirelessly, confess those scriptures, align our thoughts/actions with word, and make those promises work for you!

Find out all the goodies God has stocked up for you, and go for them! Remember – You are not waiting on God, He is waiting on you!
