IT’S NOT THE LAST CHAPTER YET

isaiah 2: 1-4;  Haggai 2:9

The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.

I like to think of our life experiences as the different chapters of a book being written by God; these chapters represent the various phases we go through in life. The pages of this book are stained by a mixture of good and bad phases, happy and sad experiences, etc.; but whatever the phase, God is the One in control.

God does not author evil occurrences, but HE may sometimes allow evil experiences so as to balance our life’s journey; and work out HIS sovereign will – a good analogy is the white and black keys of a piano.

Being humans, we tend to judge (or evaluate) our lives based on the current phase we are in at that time. We make the mistake of allowing our current state to define who we are; or to becloud our thinking and interpretation of the final outcome in life. This ought not to be, because whatever phase you are in now is a snapshot of the moment, a chapter that’s being written; this chapter does not signify the end of your life – it is not the final outcome! As a matter of fact, the current phase could just be the first few chapters of your life; not the end yet.

So if you are currently experiencing any unpleasant phase (pain, tears, misery, woe, shame, failure, etc.), remember the last chapter of your life has not been written yet. So take heart, and bask in the knowledge that it is just a phase, for this too shall pass!

The Bible says ‘the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former’. If you believe God’s word, and trust Him with your life, HE will orchestrate the phases (or chapters) of your life to yield a peaceful, joyful, and victorious outcome.
