FIVE FOUNDATIONAL TRUTHS

 Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope…Jeremiah 29: 11’

Life is full of changes, and situations that often leave us lost and confused in the web of uncertainties that surround and beguile us. Sometimes the way is not clear, and the future seems bleak. At such times, how important it is to remember that God holds the blue print of our lives, and has an unchangeable plan to bring us into a bright future.

‘O give thanks unto the Lord…His steadfast love endures forever…Psalms 136:26’

To know that God’s love is unconditional, steadfast, and unfailing is quite liberating! There is nothing we can do to stop God from loving us. Even our sins or shortcomings would not hinder God’s love for us – how soothing the thought. This does not mean we have the liberty to stay in sin; but rather we embrace the grace HE gives to live (through HIS righteousness) as a holy vessel unto HIM.

‘Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me’…. Psalms 50: 15… ‘Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Mathew 7:7’

What an assurance that our prayers will be answered when we call upon God. Dealing with an unseen God, sometimes we wonder if HE hears our prayers – no need to entertain such doubts anymore. Take hold of this assurance in HIS word, that HE hears and answers prayers.

‘Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon…Isaiah 55:7’

No other word brings such hope as the promise of God’s forgiveness! Being humans, we tend to categorize sin in certain hierarchy of grievousness. God does not categorize sins – there is no little or great sin before God; sin is sin. But it amazing to note that HE offers forgiveness freely to anyone willing to repent and turn from their evil ways. The Bible says ‘His mercy endures forever’.

‘I will never leave or forsake you….Hebrews 13:5b’

What a blessed assurance of God’s presence in our daily lives! Sometimes, life gets lonely; and we feel forsaken by people dear to us. At such times, how comforting to remember our Savior’s loving words ‘I will never leave or forsake you’

Meditate on these five foundational truths until they take root in your heart. Then when situations arise to shake your faith in God, take hold of the armor of God’s word and overcome any doubt in your heart.
