Access Codes

Psalm 9:1; 1 Thessalonians 5: 18; 1 Chronicles 29: 11

“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all”
.

Most of us have worked with computerized systems that usually require an access code to unlock the system’s resources. Living in this digital age, most people (including children from 8 years upwards), are used to ‘passwords’, and ‘logins’ for cell phones, tablets, laptops, school systems, workstations, etc.

An access code could be numbers, letters, or a combination of both. A slight difference between a password and an access code is that a password is user specific, thus associated with a username; but an access code is not user-specific, so it can be used by many users as long as the code is right.

The importance of an access code is significant because it gives access to the system resources. In other words, if you do not have the right access code, you are not privileged to benefit from such a system!

Why so much ado about access codes in this article? As Christians, we need access to God’s storehouse, His presence, and His throne in order to obtain the things we desire in life. It is paramount we have the right access code when we come before our Father in heaven.

This article presents three access codes that please God, unlock heaven’s ‘systems’ and make heaven’s resources available to us – these codes are thanksgiving, praise, and worship.

Thanksgiving recognizes God’s goodness, and all He has done for us. When this access code is used, God is inclined to do more for us.

Praise acknowledges God’s greatness, His power, and might. When this access code is used, God demonstrates His mighty works in our lives.

Worship affirms God’s majesty, glory, and sovereignty. When this access code is used, God invades our space with His awesome presence!

Folks, these access codes guarantee unlimited and unrestricted access to God. However, in addition, let us learn to use these access codes not only to obtain what we need from God, but also to reverence and adore HIM for who He is!
