Job 19:24-26 ; Ephesians 6:11; 1 Corinthians 15:58
“For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth;
26 And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God”.
How many times in our wilderness experience, or in our place of suffering/hardship does the devil come to whisper his lies to us; telling us that God has forgotten us, that God does not love us, or that our situation is impossible.
The truth is that the devil also knows our weaknesses, and capitalizes on it. At such times, he takes us down the memory lane showing us how we have waited long, how we are yet to receive answers to our prayers, or how we have been exercising faith and yet nothing has happened.
I found myself in this state recently-the devil had crept into my mind with some mind-budding thoughts about how my situation was now impossible because I have been waiting for a long time! Just as I was about to succumb to his tricks, the Holy Spirit came to my rescue!
I felt the Holy Spirit asking me “what do you know about God”? HE said to me “you know God loves you; you know God cannot forsake you; you know there is no impossible case with God”; so why should you listen to the devil”? That was it for me; with God’s word I sent the devil packing!
Even though we sometimes do not understand why God allows some situations to plague our lives, why some prayers seemingly go unanswered, or why our situation remains the same from year to year, we must not allow the truth of our foundational believes about God slip! The devil will try to shake the foundation of our faith in God, but we must remain unmovable and steadfast. Ask yourself: “what do I know about God”?
At such times put on the whole armor of God, meditate on some foundational truths about who God is, reflect on HIS faithfulness to you in time past. Let these thoughts sink in and take root until it becomes unshakeable in your heart!
What do you know about God?
