Psalms 42: 1-2
As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
In the secret place of fellowship, my heart loves to linger
To feel the warm embrace of my Savior, whom my soul adores
To hear His loving words so soft and tender
As He whispers my name in sweet friendliness.
In the secret place of fellowship, my soul tarries a while
I see the face of Jesus, so beautiful, so pure and aglow
I pour out my praise and adoration, to Him who loves me so
Oh the smile radiating from His face; His heart warms up to me.
In the secret place of fellowship, I leave my cares behind
The peace from His presence, engulfs my being; I’m lost in His love
He speaks the vision to me, my soul embraces the mission
In humble surrender, I stoop to embrace the commission.
In the secret place of fellowship, the world seems to fade away
Heaven descends on earth, time comes to a complete halt
Wait! It’s the voice of angels I hear, mingling in the fellowship sweet
Oh what harbor of peace, what anchor of love, what blessedness of hope!
In the secret place of fellowship, I will dwell continuously
The voice of angels to hear, the face of Jesus to behold
The greatness of God to taste, the fellowship of His Spirit to feel
Oh the joy in His presence divine; for heaven and Jesus are mine!
And as I dwell here, in the secret place of prayer
This shall my prayer be – that I may contact your power
Your grace, your character; and all of your essence
In the secret place of fellowship!
