1 Corinthians 15:20; 50-56; Colossians 2:14
20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ is risen from the dead and become the first fruit of them that are asleep. What a blessed hope! The event of Jesus’ resurrection remains the most important act in Christian history. It’s a season that combines the mixed feeling of joy and pain, tears and laughter, as we celebrate the greatest act of kindness this world has ever known!
The resurrection power of God is the power behind the gospel. This is the evidence that distinguishes Christianity from all other religions. No other Christian leader died and came back to life. Jesus rose victorious, conquering sin, and its enslaving power. Today, we stand victorious by His grace, through His blood. Because He is risen, we can face any situation in life knowing that He has overcome the prince of darkness that operates in this world. He lives forevermore as our high priest who makes intercessions for us!
The significance of Christ’s death and resurrection is not to be taken lightly. The Bible states that Jesus cancelled the ordinances (our legal indebtedness) written against us. So sin, poverty, depression, sickness, loneliness, death, generational curse, etc. have no right to lord it over us anymore. In addition, we have passed from death to life, and stand before God like we never sinned!
May I encourage you at this time to meditate on what His resurrection means to you. In it lies your power, your victory, your peace, and your authority over satan and all his forces. But most especially, it’s your right of passage to heaven! What a blessed hope! So, whatever the situation, remember, it has no right over you anymore; Christ is risen (having conquered all), and we stand with Him in victory! Hallelujah!
