Psalm 107:8; 65:11

“Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!”

Most times we are often encumbered with the cares of life that we fail to observe the awesomeness of God even in little things. We are focused on the big things and often miss the little things God is doing.

It almost seems God has to give some major blessings before we take note or even thank HIM for what HE has done. But the Psalmist says He daily loads us with benefits! Which means each day holds enough blessings to send us proclaiming HIS praise and dancing in celebration of HIS goodness.

Think about is, you woke this morning, and ended the day safely; you are not insane, your senses are intact. You have not experienced any personal crises, emergencies, accidents, wars, deaths, etc. Should we take these blessings for granted? Remember Elijah did not find God in the earthquake, or the fire, but in the still small voice (I Kings 19:11-13).

Have you observed the flowers, the butterflies, the moon at night, the trees, the birds that sing, the wonderful beauties of nature? The cool breeze on a hot day, or the sun that brings warmth on a cold day, or the birth of a new born baby? What blessings HE bestows on us!

Even a prayer from someone, a hug from a friend, a word of encouragement, a smile, little favors, little mercies, etc. – These are all blessings God has sent to crown our day.

In each passing day, as we progress through life, let us not only focus on the big blessings, but deliberately take note of the little blessings God pours on us from day to day….and more than that – let us learn to thank God for ALL HIS blessings, both great and small!
