Isaiah 26:3
“3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You”.
The Christian walk is built on the framework of faith; it’s a walk that draws on deep faith and trust in God. Faith is the foundation of our Christian life – we believe the bible by faith, we are saved by faith (through Christ) and journey with God by faith until we enter heaven.
As we journey, along the way, we encounter various situations that require nothing but absolute faith in God to get through. It could be sickness, loneliness, challenges, hardship, rejection, pain, joblessness, lack, betrayal, hurt – name it! I recently went through a challenging financial situation that required extreme faith in God for provision of my daily needs.
Even though we exercise faith in God, it is important to note that deep faith does not happen overnight. It is a gradual process that starts small and grows deeper each time we trust God more. There are different levels; sort of an exponential wave of trust that grows bigger when we take bold steps of faith. In other words, there is an incremental growth in faith each time we trust God, and experience victory.
At the initial stage of our faith, we still experience the fear, stress, confusion, and frustration associated with that situation we are faced with. But as our faith in God continues to grow and deepen, we get to that state of “blessed quietness” where all these negative emotions cease to exist – a place of full surrender and complete calmness! It’s a place of absolute trust and holy quietness!
Have you achieved this state of blessed quietness in your walk with God? Where you are not the least ruffled by the situations you face. Where your faith has deepened to such extent you are asleep in the storm, knowing that underneath are the everlasting arms. It is a state of blessed quietness; holy quietness; a land of perfect peace – a realm of serenity!
