Job 22: 28 ; Psalm 119: 89-96; Genesis 1: 1-25
“You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways”.
9 Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.
The Bible is filled with amazing promises we can always take advantage of. There are promises for healing, deliverance, protection, provision, divine presence, divine guidance, comfort, health, etc. Over many decades, people have stood on the infallible truth of God’s word, and it has availed for them.
There have been testimonies of divine healing for sicknesses/diseases beyond the abilities of some renowned doctors. There are testimonies about God’s divine guidance in seemingly confusing/convoluted situations. Also, there have been many testimonies regarding God’s supernatural provisions – a friend who had been out of job for a while now shared a testimony of God’s miraculous provisions.
These promises in the Bible are all intriguing; however, one of them really stands out – it is in Job 22: 28, “You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways”. This is almost like an open cheque! You can write want you want; say what you want; cancel what you do not want – mind blowing! What level of trust and authority God has lavished on us here! The implications (or ramifications) of such a promise are endless – you can control events and situations (in any part of the world) just by putting Job 22: 28 to test. Stop for a moment, and wrap your minds around this….Selah.
As empowering as this promise is; as liberating as it is, there is a sad thing though – we have failed to fully take advantage of it! This promise requires that we open our mouth and speak; but for the most part, we have left our mouths closed while still wallowing in the pitiful state of pain, lack, suffering, and all the challenges that beguile us. Then at the end of the day, we wonder why our problems persist; and why the devil is having the upper hand. Isn’t it a shame that we allow such a compelling privilege to waste?
The power of words cannot be overemphasized. In Genesis 1: 1 – 25, we understand that God created the heavens and the earth only with words (these verses are characterized by “and God said”…) – just by speaking! Being made in His image and likeness, we share in His creative nature. Decreeing and declaring things in accordance with the Bible brings great results because the situation must turn around (for good) at the sound of God’s word. So why do our mouths remain shut?
Folks, it is high time we opened our mouths and start speaking the truth of God’s word. Take authority over your health, finances, children, family, country, businesses, career, etc. Take advantage of any little time available to make declarations – and watch God go to work on your behalf!
