I love Christmas, and the magic of the season. The intriguing part is the buildup of excitement as the day approaches – the hustling and bustling in the malls as people hurry to purchase the last Christmas gift on their list, the caroling in the streets, the houses aglow with dazzling lights, the concerts and shows, the anticipation of Santa as boys and girls try to be nice, the cooking and baking, and the gathering of friends and family to share the love and joy of the season– the feeling is inexplicable!
Then comes the long expected day; faces aglow with joy, hearts all merry and bright. Pleasantries/gifts are exchanged as we spread good cheer to one and all. Kids burst with thrills of excitement as they unwrap their Christmas presents. It’s indeed the most wonderful time of the year!
However, in the excitement of all that there is, let us not forget the most precious gift of all – given to mankind as a demonstration of God’s love. Though not wrapped in a beautiful catchy Christmas wrap (with bows/ties, and all that’s nice), He is by far the most expensive, greatest, and perfect Christmas gift we could ever receive!
Freely given to whosoever will, He remains your perfect Christmas gift to claim. He is a gift that never fades or expires – throughout eternity, forever the same. Without this gift, our endeavors are worthless, and life is meaningless. He is our counsellor, guide, rock, fortress, defender, redeemer, savior, shield, buckler, strong tower, peace, hope, and friend!
As you celebrate the love and joy of Christmas, remember Christ is the reason for this magical season. Accept Him as your first and greatest Christmas gift – the most perfect Christmas gift we could ever receive!
