GOD USES THE GOOD AND THE BAD

Romans 8:28

28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”.

For the longest time, I was bound by the impression that a bad situation cannot yield a good outcome. I believed that a good outcome need always be the product of a good situation, while every bad situation must invariably result in a bad outcome. I couldn’t envision an inverse pairing like a bad situation resulting in a good outcome. How wrong I was!

In recent times, God has proved to me that a good outcome can be the product of a bad situation, provided God is the one in control! The story of Joseph is a classic example; he went from one calamity to another – was sold as a slave to Egypt, accused by Potiphar’s wife, and finally ended up in prison, in a dungeon. But at each stage, the Bible noted God was with Joseph. We all know the end of this story; when the time was ripe, Joseph became the second in command over the whole of Egypt! Situations that culminated in a sequence of negative events had yielded a favorable outcome for Joseph.

Because God is sovereign and divine, HE is able to turn the seemingly unpleasant situations in our lives into good outcomes for HIS divine purpose and glory! If you have the right attitude, and surrender all negative occurrences to God, He will bring something good out if it. None of our experiences are wasted – if God allowed it, HE has a purpose for it; so, believe me when I say “It will all work together for good”!

We should not always try to reason out why certain things happen; God is not always obliged to tell us. However, we should focus on pleasing God in the adverse situations and circumstances of life. Just like the analogy of the white and black keys on the piano, our life’s experiences are not complete without some of these unpleasant occurrences.

God uses the good and bad to work out HIS divine will in our lives – HE is weaving a beautiful tapestry of our lives, and oh I tell you, the glory that will be revealed when HE is done! So relax in HIS grace and strength, it shall ALL work together for good!

All things are working for my good, because my God is intentional.

I can smile through the hurt and the pain, ‘cos it is working out for my good!
